2002 Galant won't start with the new key

My spare keys open the door, fit in ignition but won't start the car. Any suggestions?

Are you in the right car? LoL I know for a fact that some keys are repeated to open door s but different combination to start the engine. I didthis when iI NAD a carrola Key unlocked the door but didn't start! Is the key original?or walwart made

Neither. It's made by a locksmith. I will take it back, but was wondering if this particular car had some glitch that I wasn't aware of.

Usually there is a etching one of the windows manly driver side. Or you can contact your local dealer. Google is a great help just a lot of researching

I went to the dealer yesterday and it cost me $130 to have a key made that works the ignition. Apparently due to the computer chip for anti theft. I miss the old days when you could change your own oil and get a key made at the hardware store... Thanks everyone for your answers!
