Timing belt

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Is there a view port for the timing belt on
a 2002 Mitzubishi Montero Sport XLS
2WD 3.5 liter? Mechanic says mine is
saturated with oil, and although the car
has oil leak from valve covers, I'm certain
he didn't take off the timing belt cover.

Do you have to replace timing belt to replace a water pump on a 2001 Montero Sport?
No, but since your there you might as well. But it would be a good time to check the pulley for the water pump.
