Timing belt broke (I think) is my engine trash?

About a week ago, my Montero developed a pretty
bad ticking noise. People were saying it was my
lifters and I had my oil changed. RIGHT after the oil
change about a quarter mile down the road the car
just quit. No warning or anything just stopped and
did not start again. I'm now told my timing belt has
probably broke and it probably bent my valves and
destroyed my engine. I'm wondering how I know
whether or not it can be fixed. Thanks!

My Ford Expedition did the same thing, I put a new belt on it 2 it broke one and just kept throwing the other one

Well, my boyfriend got into it and the timing belt is still intact... tried to start it and nothing but the starter click. He's going to try and turn it manually. I just can't figure out what would have made it seize like that.

Mitsubishi engines are super reliables! As good as any toyota or honda engines! But people sometimes neglected them on maintenance!
