2020 Kia Soul randomly stalls on slowdown and stop

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Car will randomly stall when coming to a stop never
happens if over 1000 rpm. However, it immediately
starts right back up after stall. Recently had an engine
rebuild this was not an issue prior to that. I took it back
to mechanic they said there are no codes showing and
double checking the engine everything looks right.
Said it looks like it could be a electrical issue and the
aurostatt stop is causing it. I've driven with the auto
stop start turned off and it still does it.
All other times it drives with no problems, no noise, no
engine shake, accelerates properly and holds
consistent speed.
Any ideas? Could this be faulty repair that they aren't
looking into properly.

Was a (Flash) done to the computer systems after the engine was redone? If not, that maybe the whole problem as the computer is trying to make it run using old data from the bad engine. Just disconnecting the battery won't do that anymore, in fact doing a battery disconnect without a memory saver installed can and will cause more problems.

I don't know if a flash was done. I'll ask the mechanic. They said since they just do engine work they don't have anyone there that handles electrical issues and suggested I take it somewhere else where they have those type of technicians. I was going to take it to dealership to be safe about trying to figure out issue.
Your right, the dealer will be the only place to get it done. Make sure you tell them the history.

Yes a flash was done after the engine rebuild. I'm under the assumption it's the fuel pump but was just weird that this was not an issue prior to engine rebuild.
A fuel pressure and flow test will confirm or deny the fuel pump. But it could also be crud in the tank plugging the screens when the engine is running and then when it dies the crud drops off and starts all over again. But don't rule out electrical problems, it is a KIA so any number of little things can go haywire. If the fuel pump checks good, then you might want to consider doing a live data scan, only drawback with a scan is if it isn't acting up the scan won't find it.
I heard of this a few years ago on a Kia , a friend of mine, after spending a few hundred found out it was just the GAS CAP WASN'T TITE ENOUGH ! It can make all the difference in the world !
