I rang kia today i have to pay £118 for a 1hr diagnostic check.before they tell me if im covered for anything or whats up Apparantly starter motors arent covered on some kias. And have been covered at others as ive read on forums If its clvered inunderstand i still have tompay labour When mynhusband can fix it cheaper jus need to find out whats up 1st!! But i dont want to pay 118 quid for the benefit lol! Im hoping it is my key
We cleaned up the battery terminals seems ok so far hopefully
Everyday this month ive been having to turn the key for about 5-10 minutes before it turns over .. purchased new battery for $300+ and still does the same thing ..
My Wife 2014 Kia having the same problem, so I ordered a new starter. Her car has 77000 miles on it, and it just clicked like three times in the past month. I am hoping the new Starter will solve it.
Also replaced both Battery Terminals to be on the safe side, and Charged the # Yer old Battery over night. Since then it has clicked once. The Starter will not be here until the 15th of Dec. I will also clean the paint under the negative ground where it connects to the frame.
The Battey is fully charged, and the Terminals are new. Kia Delearship said Starters are not part of the 10yr/100000 mile warranty. WE bought this car new. So far it has not clicked anymore since I changed the Battery Terminals. My new Starter will be here in two days...I will just replace it.
Batteries, Starters, Alternator and any other external engine bolt on is not part of the 100000 mile 10 yr warrabty from what they told me. It is covered for 3 yr 36000.
Why don't people just get their cars fixed by reputable mechanics instead of hassling with stuff they are incapable of understanding i It's quicker and ultimately cheaper that way.
I received my new starter and put it on and it works great with no more clicks. Upon inspection of the factory starter with the car only having 77000 miles on it, I found the ground strap from the back of the starter to the right terminal on the solenoid had corrosion. So my old starter is still good
