Question type: General

I have a year 2000 galant with 170,000 miles on it. When I got it, it had 167,000. I have replaced the radiator, spark plugs, engine wires, powerd steering pump and axle and its got new oil and oil filter. The engine sounds great and dosent miss a beat and the car has no proplems that I know of. Also I am getting decent used tires. Is this car capible of driving 2074 miles on i-10 thru all those deserts and hills?

I don't see why it shouldn't be ok for that trip. All though I would not trust used tires. You don't really know what you are getting with used tires. If they have been sitting un used for a while they could come apart on you at any time. I would advise new tires.

Yea I know, but dang... new tires are like $600 compared to $130 used and they are not bat at all as far as condition.

I know the feeling about the cost. I have had some bad luck with used tires in the past. If you going to use the used ones just keep a check on them and make sure your spare is in good shape too. Drive safe and enjoy the road trip.
