Engine cranks but won't start.
It will not start. When you turn the key, you hear cranking but it just wont start up anymore cheek for a code but im not getting any bad code has a new alternator new battery i cheek the star motor is good i was thinking it is a bad crankshaft sensor but the car cranks so i don't now was wrong and has a new fuel pump to please help me
frist make soure its getting gas if so and you dont have fire most likey the crank sensor is bad
I have had this problem before yoy need to replace the fuel pump again
Agree,with roybro, 1 out 0f 4 aftermarket fuel pumps, are bad to start with,check fuel pressure,then return pump and get another.
I have the same problem i replaced my fuel pump and it still wont fully start. I think I'm going to replace my timing belt and see if that helps.
I replaced timing belts water pump throttle position sensor battery fuel pump crankshaft camshaft check all fuses relays immobilizer starter spark the list goes on and STILL CRANK NO START! 2003 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE 2.4 HHHEEELLLPPP!!!
Your cats are clogged seeing your cats clogged if you separate the cat from the engine your plugs are more than likely found out. Remember break cat clothes to the engine you the exhaust to come out freely.
Has anyone found the answer to this. Replaced relays and fuel pump. Just replaced crank sensor. Timing is good. Car cranks over fine but still won’t start.
Go to scan the car and it pulls no code. Doesn’t even see the car when hooked to the laptop. Car was running when I went to leave work and died. Only cranks.
It is a fusible link on the first part of your positive battery cable. I rebuilt most of my car and ran all new wiring . The last thing I did was change the battery cables and it fired right up . So I checked the cable for more corrosion and found that it has a fusible link
p0421 warm up twc (bank1) p0340 camshaft position sensor p0335 crank position sensor it started lagging, I checked code was only p0421 then lagging at wot, I had to replace the battery. the light stayed on but went away for a few days but the lag was intermediate I thought it was fuel, yesterday turning left it went up to 10 mph and cut out, now I have all these problems you probably covered up.
I have a Mitsubishi outlander with the same engine and symptoms. After reading this thread and this article ( https://www.youcanic.com/guide/mitsubishi-wont-start ) I thought about doing a compression test. I am getting no compression which is making me think that I either have a bad timing belt or blown head gasket.
Have you replaced your airflow sensor? I replaced the battery and spark plugs, timing belt not long ago, this seems to be the fix. Let me know!
2005 eclipse, had that issue today. Was checking connections and felt the Crankshaft Position Sensor was lose. Bolt missing. Pressed it tight and fired right up. Just sharing something to look at for the next person googling.
