Car Cranks no Start
Asked by Gregory Jan 29, 2018 at 02:44 AM about the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My car cranks but does not start. The Timing belt broke; I've replaced it.
Thinking this was going to be the only issue, other than the bent valves (I've
also replaced the head with a refurbished one.)
I have Compression and Fuel but no spark,
The fuel rail does get fuel.
I have checked the Injectors with a NOID Light and it flashes when I try
cranking.
I've also replaced the
1. Crank Shaft Angle Sensor
2. Cam Shaft Sensor.
3. Spark Plugs
4. Direct coil Ignition Plugs
I can't figure out why my car won't just start, all the wiring is a okay...
Everything is new, Even spark plugs and the direct ignition plugs.
I've connected my phone to the computer using Torque app and I got a code
P1788 I'll be getting a new relay this Tuesday but I don't think that will fix
anything.

I apologize for the late reply. http://club4g.org/board/problem-reports/113297-crank-no-start.html This is a thread I started on a forum, In case anyone would like to read up on all the things I've already done. TLDR. I've checked for spark multiple ways, it's the only thing I'm missing. I've even turned the crank shaft by hand to make sure the CPS was sending the 5v signal and it was. :/
Guess no answer. Anywho thanks! have a good one. =)
yep. It's alright, once I get my tax, I'll be taking it to the stealership. Thanks for your help BeatupChevy.
i had the same thing happen. My crankshaft position sensor either moved and got caught in the timing belt or the timing belt got the sensor, regardless the belt skipped a couple of notches. My valves were not bent but had needed to replace top head. It worked for another month then I had a problem with the car stalling, no power and I started hearing a metal sound. I ended up replacing the entire engine. What had happened was a bearing in the engine had broken loose from the shaft when the first issue happened. One month later came off the shaft and ended up in the oil pan.
