bought an '07 RX350 with 140K miles. What is the best choice for oil changes - full synthetic,synthetic blend or is conventional ok?

Some people say that using synthetic oil in a high mile car that has been maintained with conventional oil can lead to problems. I am not sure that is true but a blend should be just fine. I would change the oil every 3-4,000 miles and use a quality oil filter, no orange Fram filters.
