Buying a new remanufactured engine, having it removed and replaced is ballpark around $10K. If a lexus dealer is quoting you, it will be higher. Try finding a used engine to lower the cost.

The car is probably not worth fixing unless you plan on driving it for several more years. Shop around and get prices but you are probably better off using that money for a down on a newer car.
