It could be either the battery or the alternator failing. Take it to an auto parts store and have both tested for free. I am thinking it is probably the battery approaching it's fourth birthday. Alternators usually last indefinitely. Your battery may have up to a five year factory warranty but you have to buy their over priced battery to collect the prorated credit. Don't do it.

Original batteries on most models have a 5 year warranty. Aftermarket batteries have a 3 year warranty. I just changed mine...original, in my 2011 model just because I was concerned about winter arriving. The start ups were better and now my battery stress is taken care of for at least 3 years.

Guru9FSFV8. Your preventative battery maintenance is a wise move. Replacing an aging battery can save your life in a dangerous weather situation. Murphy's Law. Owning a battery costs about $2 a month so early replacement of a battery that still works, is well worth the peace of mind.
