Question type: General

If the car is in CA and I have it delivered to Yuma, AZ ....do I pay CA taxes and
registration or AZ?

If you are having it delivered, I would guess you need AZ registration because that is where you live. I you were to pick it up, CA would probably want to double dip you because it's California.

Since you're not a resident of CA, even if you pick up the vehicle in CA, you don't pay taxes or registration fees when you pick up the vehicle. If you are buying from a dealer in CA you can, with proof of insurance, buy a temporary CA transport license plate to drive the vehicle home to AZ. You will pay AZ the sales tax and registration fees. If any taxes are due to CA, AZ will pay them. Jim
