what should be the first thing i upgrade on my 97 eclipse?

i dont have a picture of it yet, but i will have one within a week or two.

should i go for:

gas mileage, sound(engine/exaust), looks, handling, or sound system?

It all depends on what you want and what type of motor you have in it. The best thing about these cars is you can do so much with them its hard to decide where to start. If you have the 4g63t (turbo)then i would start with up grading preformance before cosmetics. You probably have the stock turbo which isnt real impressive so you could start with that, get a front mount intercooler as well and go from there i guess. but if you have the 420a (non-turbo) then just go cosmetics and make it look and sound fast i guess.
