Considering Purchase from Nissian Dealership
Asked by Nippa_1312 Jan 30, 2017 at 11:46 AM about the 2005 Nissan Murano
Question type: Shopping & Pricing
I am in the market for a quality vehicle I have
seen several that has caught my eye. I
recently seen online an 05 Nissian Murano
for $7000 w/ 144k miles. This vehicle will
be bought directly from the Nissian
dealership. Is the price good for year and
miles? Is it a plus being that I am purchasing
from Nissian Dealership itself? I have an
appointment tommorrow the price is
negotiable what would be a reasonable price
to suggest to dealership? HELP?

Being from the midwest (prices here are often lower than the coasts), and a regular auction attendee, that is more than twice what I would pay for that vintage and mileage.
It all depends on which model, see this below. Also, Nissan has had a TERRIBLE track record with their CVT transmission. Be careful. http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2005/Nissan/Murano-V6- AWD/Utility-4D-S-2WD/Values

Listen, it's ALL ABOUT CONDITION, and dealers don't negotiate too much. If you were purchasing a late model certified pre-owned vehicle, it would be a different story, but, any car 12 years old with almost 150,000 miles is going to be a big challenge. I think you can do better.
Even a SUBARU would be a better choice than that pig. Don't buy it,

Thanks, for all the helpful tips. This has really given me a different opinion. I was under the impression Nissian was reputable, I had no idea of the actual horror stories. Again, thanks the advice has been most helpful!!
If you really want to play it safe find yourself a used Lexus.
