Question type: Maintenance & Repair

just bought a used car with 166,000 miles on it. Looks clean under the hood.
When I went to shift it, seems like I had to go all the way to the floor with clutch
when shifting. Is this a sign of a bad clutch for the car? While driving down the
road I noticed it didn't handle well at all. Probably needs new shocks/ bushings.

Hydraulic clutches when they wear the pedal release point get higher on the pedal travel, this sounds like it may have air in the hydraulics or the slave and master cylinder are very weak. With that kind of mileage your going to find it will start the old nickle and dime repair tricks. Remember the vehicle is not worth very much so watch how much money you need to put in it. Next time look for a Toyota or Honda.
