ABS kicking in but no ABS light?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When pressing brakes over 60km/h the ABS is acting up.  But there is no ABS light on.  Could it be a bad speed sensor?  How do I go about finding the problem?

I would take this to a dealership. It could conceivably be a bad speed sensor, but this usually shows up as a code causing the ABS light to come on. Probably the controller is malfunctioning, or perhaps the ABS unit itself has taken a dump, and doesn't even know to record codes, although typically the PCM would reflect this when it tried communicating with the ABS controller and got no response. Short answer, a dealership is the only place that's going to be able to tell you exactly what is wrong.
