1999 RX300 ABS

Asked by waynethomas2 May 01, 2010 at 06:01 PM about the 1999 Lexus RX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 RX300.  It hear a clunking noise and feel pulsing on the brake pedal when I apply the brakes at slower speeds (under 20 mph).  I think it's the ABS malfuntioning.  It's a sporadic thing that seems to happen more frequently when the car has been driven for a while, but not when the engine/transmission is cold.  Sugestions?

ABS wheel speed sensor is probably bad. Fairly inexpensive part for a Lexus and we see them go bad on the RX300's quite often.
