RX300 Display is blank?

1999 RX300.  The display above the radio and AC controls is blank, except for
the three "box" outlines.  I have replaced the display and the entire radio/AC
unit, including the switches just below the screen.  No good.  Where does the
data come from that is usually on that screen (radio and Cd info, air
conditioning, trip info, etc.).  The main computer?  Where is that??

Gene answered about a year ago

Early generation with serial buss so it may get signals from that, you really need a wiring diagram for the vehicle to trace it out. But your best bet is to have a pro take a look at it cause if you mess up you could kill the computer.
