Battery Disconnect

Asked by GuruCLB6S Feb 18, 2019 at 09:31 PM about the 2004 Lexus RX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Does the 2004 Lexus RX330 have a battery
disconnect switch. Car has been sitting for
several months and won't do anything. Before
I invest in a new battery I wanted to see if
there was a battery disconnect switch that
would engage to keep the battery from dying

even if you have a disengage switch your battery will eventually die due to starting the vehicle but if your alternator is going out your battery is going to drain way faster bc the battery is only used to start the car. the alternator is used to charge and run all electrical components in the car. as for the battery switch i dont think so. if you want to see if the battery is good take a multimeter (you can use one at any auto part store for free just ask) and test the battery it should read 12.00v to roughly 12.60v give or take and with the car running the battery should read 14.00v to 14.20v give or take.
