y 1299 Lexus ES 300 has the Check Engine Light & the Track Off Light on. Do these lights being on causes the transmission not to shift to Over Drive(ODO) when driving at 70 MPH? What is causing the Check Engine Light & the Track Off Light to be on? Could it be the Mapping Sensors?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Had the transmission replaced, now I hearing the problem are the mapping sensors.
The transmission that I had replaced was a used one and is doing the same thing as
the one that came with the car.  What  should I do regarding the problem.  At this time,
I have spent around $2K and the mechanic still has not solved the problem.  Should I
take my car from the mechanic and find another?  I have spent too much to not have
it repaired.  Maybe I need another mechanic to do the work.

My understanding is the anti-knock sensors need replacing. They are up under the manifold, and a dealer wants approx. $1000 to do it. You can buy them on ebay, and find a good mechanic to do it for allot less.
