Lexus ES 350 compressor replacement. AC still not working. Any advice?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Lexus350 2014 with 37,000 miles. Replaced compressor because AC not
working....still not working. Mechanic said might be a blockage: he doesn't
think it's mechanical. Anyone have similar issue or advice before we put more
money into it.

When you replace an A/C compressor you also need to replace the accumulator, and the orifice tube. You need to flush the refrigeration system as well. Many times when a compressor fails metal flakes are expelled into the refrigeration system from the dying compressor. This will quickly clog the screen in the orifice tube. A good mechanic would know that! Now, here is another thing to know. Most aftermarket manufacturers require the shop to show proof that all of this was done before issuing the shop credit for the "defective" compressor. This is because they know most shops don't do the job correctly which ruins the new compressor, sometimes very quickly. One of the things I do at my job is process defects that are returned by customers. I am always kicking back "defective" A/C compressors that are not returned with paperwork proving the job was done correctly. But you shouldn't have to pay twice for their poor repair job!! Hope that helps! Jim
