parking pin and start problems

2006 Gx470....car won't start/turn over. Key won't turn. Lexus suggests slamming on brakes, turning steering wheel. This is intermittent problem....Any suggestions?

I have this same issue. Dealer has no answer. Usually, when the computer decides to reboot itself, it will start. could be 5 minutes or 45 minutes. or longer. In my case, if I put the wrong key in (from other lexus vehicle) that will trigger the "won't start, turn over - key won't turn.
We have the 2007 GX 470 and the Lexus 400H. I f we put the key from the Lexus 400h in the 2007 gx470 the car locks , the key will not turn, and the car needs time to "recycle" until the car will start. The inverse is not true! If we put the Gx 470 key in the 400h the car will still start. The problem is indigenous to the gx470. Having said that , we had a Lx 450 before that also locked up at random times!!!
Same issue..intermittent problem and no cause. Sometimes have to sit for an extended period of time before it will start!
