Brake light and battery light on

Asked by Jeffer Dec 10, 2020 at 10:31 AM about the 2001 Nissan Xterra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi my battery and brake lights turned on a few
days ago,I've tried charging the battery, and took it
in to check on the alternator. Both were fine they
said, after they tested it, the lights went away. This
morning it came back on. Any clue to what it may
be?

Fluids are fine. I've started the car, then unplugged it while it was on, turned off immediately. Plugged the battery back in and started the car again, lights went off this time. Still a little confused as to why

Update: Battery and brake lights came back on. So I'm thinking it may be the alternator?

Did you ever get this resolved? This just happened to our 2011 Xterra. Fluids are fine, brakes work fine. Not sure what to check next.
