What mileage is too high when buying a car

Depends on the maintenance and upkeep of the car. If the car was well-maintained, in theory there is no such thing as too high of mileage. Without knowing the owner and seeing maintenance records 100 K might be too high because certain fluids were never replaced at the recommended intervals.
