the shifter wont switch gears trying to refurbish a 1990 lexus i believe the model is an ls 400 by photos i have seen one problem is the shifter wont move the car has been sitting for 3 years

My guess would be to take apart that part of the center consle and check the shift knob release (the thing that unlocks the shift knob when you push the button).
