Color of Lexus sc430

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I want to know how much effect the color
of a Lexus sc 430 has on price, it's for my
son 13k 84000 miles 2004 but it's purple,
I'm just not sure about a purple or twilight
amethyst as it's called especially for my
son. Any thoughts. Also seems like price is
kinda cheap is color the reason!   Thanks!!

Color is a personal choice....someone may think it reminds them of Prince.....and they will pay more for it. I personally think it reduces the value by $1000 The bigger thought is when u will want to sell in 5-7 years (average time someone owns) how many buyers will want a "purple rain" car? I say the cost to repaint is the cost of plus or minus as a buyer My suggestion. Hope this helps

Thanks that helps a lot I think i will move on from purple. Not be distracted by something we either don't want to live with or no one else wants. Some things like wierd color not worth price. Thanks again!

White, black, and silver/grey tend to command a slightly higher resale value on relatively young used cars. However, I would imagine that the SC400 has reached a point where the impact of color is negligible.
