why is my 90 Ford Probe making a clunking sound when I shift, manual transmission

Bad wheel bearing or bad cv axle. Have it checked as soon as possible. Either could turn real serious quickly if they completely fail while you are driving.

Thank you for the great answers. My son took car to Transmissions plus and they diagnosed as a transaxle bolt. Motor mounts and transaxle all good. Appreciate the replies. :)
