I have a 1998 Nissan maxima that won't start off in drive

My car stoped driving in drive, so replaced the gear
solenoid,  now it won't start off in drive but 2nd and
1st drives and if I start off in 2nd and get up speed
an then shift it to drive it will drive and runs good
but as soon as I stop I have to put it back in 2nd to
take off, what can it be bc I watching videos and
reading and there so many things to try anyone
else with this issue it's a 1998 Nissan maxima v6  
3000, twin cam 24 valve , I can't find the same one
on you tube and I can't find where the speed
sensor is or the turbine revolution sensor , I don't
no of I have a camshaft sensor,  and I habe no clue
where the tramission control module is tryed
pulling up owner manuals but all I get are cars and
parts for sale I'm so lost plse help thanls

If I have changed over head intake gasket and I have antifreeze coming out the exhaust what went wrong?
