Torque Converter Control Switch

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When im driving my 01 Aurora, the engine check light comes on, and i read the codes, and keeps saying the torque converter control switch is stuck off, but it drives fine. Ive heard that replacing the switch only works some of the time, and other times it needs a new torque converter. Any Suggestions?

sounds to me its the lock up clutch not working, try getting a new switch and see if it helps or fixes the issue, other then that it might be something to do with the actuator for the clutch, if they are not integral on an aurora of course. the car does not need it per say, but it will make it harder on gas, and might eventually cause the transmission to overheat.
