Is there a recall on the 2003 Bonneville paint?

Asked by magic200315 May 14, 2016 at 08:12 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Bonneville

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2003 Bonneville has recently been peeling. The paint is coming off of the
top, trunk, and sides of the car. Just wondering if I can get it repaired for little
or no price to due a recall?

A recall on 13 year old paint. You are kidding of course........

What you are seeing is probably just the top clear coat layer. Doubtful that you can have it prepped for just re-shooting the CC but you may want to ask a paint shop expert. Full, good quality paint jobs run into the thousands while poor ones go for a few hundred bucks. Maybe your paint can be saved.

There could be a recall on the "13 year old" paint. I have researched and it's said that there was many problems with the paint from that year. There were other recall's on features from this car, therefore there could be on the paint. The year of 2003, this company was trying a new organic paint, which did not work. Meaning there could be a possible recall.
