Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a Pontiac Grand Am 2002 I had a
front-end collision and since then my car is
making a high pitched whine sound when I
drive it I was told I needed tires so I got new
tires and it didn't make a difference

Look to see if something is rubbing against the serpentine belt or one of the pulleys.

For some reason I keep thinking it's the drivetrain my Chevy van did the same thing and that was the problem but that was such a long time ago I have a hard time remembering

The insurance company totaled the vehicle because it's 15 years old and it has 260,000 miles on it so we had it repaired privately by a friend he just replace the quarter panel with one from the junkyard and banged out the hood & door so I'm not really sure if there was any damage underneath

I just worried cuz it's my daughter's car and she lives a hundred and fifty miles away and travels once a week to work in this area and drives a hundred and fifty miles back home three days later I just don't like her driving late at night when the car is making noises
