02 grand prix turned off when i was moving the car. key is stuckand no electrical power

Asked by sward6sward6 Jan 23, 2013 at 10:56 PM about the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was trying to move the car foward a few feet with the door open and it suddenly shut off. The key is stuck in the
ignition. When I try to try it it will turn but won't make a sound. Lights and locks won't work. I have my charger
plugged in and that light is on so I know there is juice. No corrosion on the battery. It had ran fine for 15min before
this.

If the ignition loses power, it will not release the key. CHeck the voltage at the battery. Additionally, if that is good, inspect the cables off of the battery. I had the ground wire break on mine.
