Car dies when accelerating up around 3500RPM, no power- like key is off.

have a 2005 grand prix 3.8L base model. It idles OK. While in park- Rev it up and it stops power at 35K-36K rpm even though there is much more gas pedal. When driving it is OK driving slow 15 rpm-25K rpm, when I accelerate past 35K (55-60mph) it will just die. No power steering. I can wait a minute and it will start back up. I have put in a fuel pump (includes regulator/filter) and cleaned the MAF. These had no help.
Any suggestions?

Ended up taking car to mechanic shop .They found the ECM failing. The Engine Control Module (ECM) can fail causing stalling, and engine and transmission drivability concerns. They re-flashed it and cleaned a ground wire. It has been driving good since. Hope it will keep going, good car for work.
