Do not know how you bleed system but try bleeding like this. Remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle once level in tank will start to rise this is normal once thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back.
Make sure your cooling fan(s) are functioning. If they are not energizing at the right temp, the heat will continue to build (especially if the car is not moving to force outside air over the radiator).
I changed the Thermostat and it still over heating
I'm always amazed at how often folks suspect a bad thermostat with an overheating issue, and replace it to no avail. Statiscally the failure rate on these items is almost nil, but I guess its easy enough to swap out. On the Montana, make sure rad fans are coming on. Also, the V6 engine has 2 coolant bleed screws. If air is not purged from system, can cause water pump cavitation and overheating.

Ok guys help! So the other day I was driving and it was raining so I turned my defrost on with heat. Well after I drive about idk maybe 2 miles it starts alarming saying ENGINE COOLANT HOT A/C FOR PROTECTION. SO I TURNED OF HEAT and pulled over let it sit till fans kicked off then drove again less than. Mile and done same thing so let it sit AGAIN and didn't do it made it home next day drove it all day no problems then of course my husband gets in and drives 15 minutes later here it is again saying overheating. My husband says thermostat sticking but I don't think so.
