My sunfire turns over but won't start

I have a 04 Pontiac Sunfire yesterday it wouldn't start I thought it was the battery the light was on but, a friend of mine took off the breather to get to the battery side post to jump it the breather had gas oil and a water mixture in it. What could it possibly be?
