Help with starting 2004 pontiac sunfire

Asked by Neptoon32 Nov 29, 2016 at 02:17 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 2004 pontiac sunfire. Four months
ago my starter went out and I replaced it
with a used one bought from a salvage
yard. Two weeks ago I went to start my car
up after being out of town a week and the
battery was dead so I charged the battery
and when a tried to start it it would turn
over but not fire up and the starter was
making a high pitch whine as it was turning
over. So I replaced that starter with another
one from a salvage yard and it's still
making that noise and won't fire up. Could
it still be the starter or something elsr

1 Answer

Maybe the battery is weak or the starter solenoid is bad. Clean and tighten the battery terminals and cable ends.
