There is a coil with a relay for intermittent wiper delay, other things to consider. Try playing around with the controls, something may change and work properly for you.
Like DavidH said in the other thread, replace the wiper motor. There are a set of contacts inside the wiper motor that keeps the motor energized until the wipers are in the "park" position. Those contacts sometimes stick together and the motor will continue to run.--- Unplug the electrical connector. Check for voltage at the connector. There should be voltage to ground on one contact. If there is voltage on more than one contact, the problem is with the incoming signal from the wiper switch, not the motor.

Replaced wiper switch. Nothing. Correct answer bad wiper motor.
Bad wiper motor (actually the circuit board inside the housing - shorts out from moisture). I''ve gone thru 4 rebuilt assemblies - will buy new GM part next time.
