The wires in the back of your dashboard are probably loose or faulty. You'll probably have to remove the dash to get to it. First be absolutely sure that it's not the fuse.
it could be the light socket that goes to the blinker, they do some times get water in them causing them to short out. or it could be a loose lightbulb
poss t signal switch or t signal relay/flasher
Federico is on the right track - Slim chance its BOTH bulbs back there too Quick check on the fuse is if you have back up lights the Directional fuse is good.(Fuse 2 in dash fuse box ) Key would be what the Dash Indicator light is doing. If both light up when you hit left or right its the flasher assembly. If there are no lights then its probably a Directional switch ... Sometimes when it goes in this manner you sometimes lose brake lights too so be careful if you are driving it Good Luck
I would deffinatly go with fredrico on the flasher , it worked in my brothers 1970 Buick .
