Stereo comes on and off. When it goes off completely the windows will not work
This will take place for several minutes or hours before coming back on. Any suggestions around this?

Well.... You can rule out a fuse issue... Those two are on different circuits... The only real commonality between them is that they are both tied into the accessory portion of your ignition switch. (OFF-ACC-ON) I would check all the connections on the windows and the radio to ensure proper connection, but my gut feeling is that your ignition switch is going out.

It's the wiring harness in your door. The boot may be off, between the door and fender. But inside there is surely a bare wire or wires grounding out. I have this problem as well. I just open the door and grab the wires and shake them around and the stereo and windows work again!
Yes check your ground wire. Also Pontiac is known to have wording issues in or near steering coloum. Turning your steering wheel so its bending a wire possibly in a "bare spot" is shorting it out! But Mine does the exact same thing and I've got a 98 firebird v6 . but my ground wire for my Car is Not hooked up. :( so I "very well could catch on fire" also my windows my radio quit. This Could catch fire! I Need my man to fix mine but he is too busy all the time. Ugh Good luck.
