Why does my Saturn run like crap at the normal temperature
My 2005 Saturn runs like a dream. But as soon as it
hits the normal temperature mark it starts acting up
like it's starving for fuel. It won't move sometimes. It
stalls itself out. We just replaced the altnator a
couple days ago. And than everything went down
hill. I have replaced the pugs, coil, thermostat, and
flushed the radiator hoses. I'm almost out of
options. Can someone please help

The EGR valve may be the culprit however it could also be the MAF (mass airflow sensor) ...you should be able to spot a problem on the MAF if you plug a scanner into the plug (under the dash) ... They can be cleaned with a spray ...in most cars all you need to do is take the air filter out to get to it
We have checked the MAF a couple times. That's the first thing we checked. And just replaced the filter for it. Im beginning to think maybe something is wrong with the computer?
Don't go there because the computer is only doing what it's told to do by an input. A word about computers >>> All aircraft made in the last decade are controlled by computers .. the pilot only has wires going to the computer (Fly by wire) not hard mechanical rods or cables ... if 400 lives can be trusted to a computer then I would call that reliable ... when a computer fails it fails ... it's not discriminate on what fails>>> There is a tiny device called a "Thermistor" that sends it's infor to the computer ,, the computer then process's that info ... if the computer gets bad info than it will act accordingly
Nope ,,If it's not the Maf then,It's probably is in the temperature sensor ,,, does your temp gauge read higher than it's been reading? Get yourself a spray can of MAF cleaner ,,, remove the air filter a spray the thin wire ( sometimes you have to remove the unit to get at the platinum wire ... it's easy because it comes off like a hose ,, warm the engine up so the rubber is flexible) If that fails to work ... post it and I will get back
Be very careful and gentle with the MAF. Do not touch the sensor elements. Spray and let air dry. You will see the gunk fall off when you are spraying.
