I don't think there are any cars that don't need a select few things maintained at certain intervals such as timing belts, get a haynes repair manual for your car it will tell you everything or even your owners manual if one cam with the car.

I was just in the dealer the other day to have something else done and they gave me a list of prices for the timing belt change for my Hyundai Accent as well as all Hyundai's and Subaru's they sell. I mean these numbers are with labor and parts in the Buffalo area, so they may differ for you. Yes Subaru's do have timing belts, yes they need to be changed at about 60,000 miles, yes if you don't change them they will void any warranties, but then Subaru only has a 5 year, 60,000 powertrain warranty anyways. But on the other side should you not change it, the valves will bend and the engine will blow up! The prices for changing were from $350-$500 with $450being the average. if I were you i would look into a car that has a longer powertrain warranty- Kia, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, etc.
