Does the Subaru forester X20 2003 have a symetrical AWD system?

I spoke with a friend, a service technician with the Subaru dealer, and, according to him. the Forester has the Symetrical AWD System. It was introduced in 1972 available in one or two models and gradually upgraded to encompass almost all cars in the model line up. Hope this helps.

The FOUR wheel drive system was introduced early on, but the ALL wheel drive system not until 1989-1990 depending upon model.
