What kind of tool/key do I need to unlock or take off tire for a 2001 Audi A6 Quattro?

Question type: General

I have a 2001 Audi A6 Quattro. I am trying to change my front brake pads, but I can't
get my tire off. I jacked it up took off all the lug nuts, but there is something in the
center of the wheel holding the tire on & I can't find any kind of tool or anything that fits
it to get my tire off. What kind of tool or key do I use to get this piece off, so I can
remove my tire??? Where can I find a tool or key like this, because I've checked Auto
Parts store & they told me to contact Mat-Co or Snap-On which I tried but I am getting
the run around. Please can someone help???
