sorry there no name of the chip it got 2 wires 1 red & black the other is black....ive taken all original air piping of and air box theres no maf to be found any where im puzzled..im replacing the original system with 3 inch hose and 3 inch k&n cone filter..any help would be appreiciated :-)
I hope it's not an SLR chip, I had a similar one and it fried my sensor, made the car slower and dropped fuel economy. IDK if I would trust it but if you wanna try it I'll see what I can find.
ok thanks for your advice have you any idea where it could be located the maf sensor i mean if its not on any of the air system or does it have an iat sensor?
I'll check into it and get back to you.
I am fairly sure that Model year 2000+ Subaru Legacy cars abandoned the Whole Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) technology and instead started using Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP). I could be mistaken on this though.
hi thanks for that so where will i i find the map sensor please?? bear in mind this is a uk car...thanks in advance carl
I am not familiar with UK Subaru cars. My guess is that these car were built in Japan and closely follow JDM car technology. Based on what I know of US MAF implementation the MAF sensor would be installed in the air intake between the air filter and the black plastic intake lair intake pipe that is roughly 3-4 inches in diameter. I am not at all sure if UK cars utilize MAP or MAF sensor technology.
iat is in the intake beside the coil map right strut tower
