What is your transmission code? I'm assuming you have an Automatic as you never really hear of MT's going. Check this link here: http://opposedforces.com/parts/forester/us_s10/type_13/automatic _transmission/at_transmission_assembly/

If you find your trans code, (like inside that link it says: TZ1A3ZC2AA '98, March — '99, June) then you can source what you need. Rockauto.com does transmissions and it's afaik ready to go. But you have to send in yours for core or lose the 350 or whatever.
