sounds like you probly have a cloged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. work from the front and work your way back for starters. so first check the air intake make sure the mass air flow sensor is clean and not damaged. you can get mass air flow sensor cleaner from any canadian tire store or auto zone. 2. check to make sure you got spark and none of the sparkplugs are super grimed up. 3rd check the vacum lines make sure there is no breaks or leaks. using a bottle of soupy water in a spray bottle is best for this. 4th. check the crank case houses if your model of engine has them. they normaly are plastic hoses that run from the head covers to the fuel air intake system and a bunch of vacum lines. 5. next if you have not replaced the fuel filter in ages change it now, as its most likely cloged with particles thats filtered threw your gas. 6. if you have done all this and still having an issue check the fuel pump. open the back seat flip down seat remove the liner carpet from your truck and unscrew the cap to the fuel pump assembly so you can hear it good and clear. After you do that turn the key and listen for the hum. if your car dies again listen for the humming noise when you turn the key to restart the car. no humming means there is either a no power going to it or b the pump is dead and you need to replace it. let us know if this helps
there is only a few other things that could cause this check your wireing and make sure the fuel pump is not being shorted out there should be a 12 volt feed that goes threw the plug to the pump if its any more or any less it could cause it to malfunction. also try checking your battery and make sure it has a full charge and is charging when you drive. there is only a few other things that can cause this. If you have the engine light on get the codes read and post them as this starts to get more difficult after the short list i sent Here is a new list for you top check for engine stalls. 1. idle speed may be incorrect which means a sensor may be malfunctioning. 2 as before the fuel filter may be cloged and causing the issue so having it replaced would be a good idea if you have not already. 3. a fualty emissions system can cause this as well check all the vacum lines and emissions lines starting from the back under the car at the tank and work your way forward. i found that my emissions line had rusted out and crumbled off just behind the rear wheel inner liner cover the same could have happened to yours. 4. if you have not tested the spark for all your spark plugs or have not replaced them in a long time do so. i find the best bosch plugs to be the best choice for the audis engine i bought a set after fouling 3 sets out of lower grade plugs out. Also if not already done so check the spark plug wires for abrasions or bare spots. if the wires look old and stiff they are most likely needing replaced. 5.Also check your vacum lines under the hood again jsut to make sure as most stall issues are ussaly related to a broken or fallen off vacum line. you can acquire new good vacuum line from audi if needed cheap. also try to flush out the fuel lines and make sure you are using the best high tes gas you have near you.
