Oil pressure indicator light is on, but oil level is fine. Is it safe to drive 20 miles to the mechanic?

Is it safe to drive with the red oil indicator light on to mechanic?

You wound need to verify the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge before driving it. It is possible the oil pressure sending unit is bad, but you wouldn't want to chance locking up the engine.

Too risky. Could be something minor is wrong, like the screen is plugged, but if you overheat an aluminum block engine, they are toast. Best call a tow truck.
