Need to check for spark. Possible ignition control module, coil packs, etc. the ignition system should be checked out.
thank you I will buy a tester tomorrow and get right on that
the coils checked out fine, but I have googled it and I dont know where the icm is located on my car
If you still do not have spark, the ignition control module (ICM) would be a good thing to check. I believe Auto Zone can check this component as this is a spendy unit. I am not sure where yours is located but I know what it looks like. I would have a male inline 10 pin receiver plugin into it. Check out this link, you may have to scroll down, it has a few pictures of this item.https://www.carid.com/2001-toyota-4runner-ignition-parts/standard-intermotor-ignition-control-module-45117846.html
