Door Controls

Asked by Michelle Apr 24, 2019 at 03:41 PM about the 2001 Toyota Corolla

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My door controls have sunken into the door when they get pressed. Is there
any way to fix this ?

Same thing happened to my 2004 Corrola. It was going to cost about 500- 600 dollars to fix at the dealership. I couldn’t (read: didn’t want to) afford that at the time. They pulled it out and reset it, but it was just a cosmetic repair. When it happened again, I took it to my car guy, who glued it into place because I was on my way out of town. It was a quick, free repair. However, I can’t open my rear windows. The front windows and lock/unlock switch works, though, and the mechanism hasn’t fallen back in. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend unless you can repair it yourself.
