Fuel Pump Seal -Damaged Again!!!

My 1998 AUDI A6 1.8L , has damaged the fuel pump seal
again,. I've changed this rubber piece for the second time in
last two months .
Does anyone know what is causing this issue.

Going out on a limb here perhaps but how about a microbial bug problem inside the tank? They like to munch away on well lots of things. That's my final answer. Have a good one.
